On Location Family Portrait Session Info

When to schedule your family session:

Most families chose to have their session in Spring once the flowers and tree's are in bloom. Summer is a also great option. Fall tends to be the busy season with family's taking advantage of the gorgeous foliage and weather. If you're planning a fall session, be sure to book early to insure your portraits are ready in time for the Holidays!

What will my family session be like?

Fun, relaxed and not rushed! Tanya has a very laid back style and tries to make each session unique. Her goal isn't to take the perfect picture, but rather capture those connections and personalities perfectly. Your family session will last between 1-2 hours and can take place at a favorite your location. Not sure where to have your session? No worries, Tanya will make suggestions based on the mood you want to portray in your photographic art.

I have no idea what to wear!?!

Once you have finalized your booking, Tanya will send you a "What to Wear Guide" which will help you with your wardrobe choices. Feel free to call if you have additional questions on what to wear.

What else can I do to prepare for the session?

Please be sure that you book your session at a good time for your children and not during his or her usual naptime. It's best to book it first thing in the morning, or shortly after their nap. Be sure to bring along snacks and drinks as we'll be sure to take a break to keep them happy. Do they have a favorite toy or blanket? Bring it along, and Tanya will be sure to incorporate it into the session.

Do you travel the DC metro area for your family portrait sessions?

Absolutely! I am located in Lorton, Virginia, but will drive throughout the Northern Virginia, Fairfax County, Prince William County and DC Metro area for your family portrait session. Your session fee covers travel within 45 miles of the 22079 zip code. Travel outside the area is $1 mile.

Do you offer in-person ordering consultations?

Absolutely! Our clients actually prefer the in-person consultations, which happen approximately 2 weeks after your session. Tanya helps you narrow down your selections, makes recommendations for wall art and allows you to see our unique line of boutique albums and products. If you do choose to have an in-person ordering consultation, your order payment is due at that time. Once payment is made, Tanya will begin to create your portrait art.

After Your Family Session:

How soon can I see my images?

Tanya always tries to post a sneak peak to the blog within a few days of the session. This typically includes 2-3 of her favorite images. In approximately 2 weeks your entire order session gallery will be available for viewing, as well as a custom slideshow set to music. Tanya recommends sharing your slideshow with all your friends and family! Your online ordering gallery will be available for 7 days and your order will be placed within that time frame.

How long before I receive my prints, digital files, album, etc?

Your portraits will be ready in about 3 weeks from when you've placed your order. If you need it sooner, please communicate that and we'll do our best to complete things quickly. A rush order fee may apply. Please allow 4-5 weeks for Album orders.
