I think we picked one of the hottest day of the year to do our session. We tried to beat the heat by heading to Old Town Alexandria for a morning photography shoot, but as I was driving, my car thermometer read 94 degrees! Despite the heat, we still had a great time playing ball and hanging out. This little guy is definitely all boy and loves playing ball, and his Thomas the Train. Thanks “C” family for coming out and enduring the heat and humidity, it was well worth it.

I met this family at one of my all time favorite parks in Fairfax County. Hidden Pond park is a little gem in nestled within a neighborhood in Springfield. It has a beautiful pond, walking paths and you’re surrounded by nature. A perfect place for a family session!

There seems to be a trend with blue eyes lately. Most of the kids I’ve photographed have them! This little guy was a huge explorer. We had a great time in Old Town walking around and playing.

I am dreaming of spring today. As I sit here writing this, I can see the snow falling outside. Don’t get me wrong, I love snow. I grew up in northern North Dakota, so I’ve seen my fair share of cold weather. We are bracing for a huge storm here in DC as they are forecasting 20-30″. I thought today would be a perfect day to post some springtime photos to brighten our mood. In springtime, the big hill in our neighborhood blossoms with wild white daisies. The girls are always asking to go and pick some. Here are a few captures I made of us flower picking. It won’t be long and spring will be here again, at least I hope so!

This little guy wasn’t feeling so great for his big rock star shoot. His mom put him in the cutest t-shirt that said “Rock Star”. We still managed to get some great shots. Check out those baby blues!

Our session started out quite crisp, as any typical fall morning would.  We met in downtown Occoquan.  My newest favorite place to hold a session with many wonderful places to shoot.  These kids were so adorable with their color coordinated outfits.  Great job mom!!IMG_11001

My little girls.  I get choked up just looking at these pictures.  I don’t drag them out much to photograph, but it was a nice overcast day, perfect for a mini-session.  We drive by this spot every day on the way to and from school.  It’s a hill that is at the front of our neighborhood.  It has this cute white fence, long grass and beautiful yellow flowers.  I’ve wanted to venture out and look around for weeks.  It was worth the hike in the long grass.IMG_0320IMG_0367IMG_0377IMG_0347

I have been so lucky to document my little cousin’s life since she was born. I photographed her when she was only a month old, then at 1 year and now at 2. I love this age because of their intense curiosity. I basically followed her around and documented her exploring. I can’t wait to do your 3 year old pics next summer!
